‘Unity of South Sudanese is the best way to pay tribute to our late leader and all slain comrades in the liberation struggle.’
This was a suggestion a former Red Army member Mark Lokorai Dedemoi put forward during the Martyrs Day commemoration in Torit Eastern Equatoria on Wednesday, Emmanuel Radio reported.
He recalled that Dr. John Garang succeeded in the struggle through uniting army factions that broke away from the liberation struggle.
Mr Lokorai remembered that the late leader aspired for freedom and unity of the people of South Sudan.
He said disunity caused many sufferings among communities especially in Eastern Equatoria state since 1955 until the liberation movement.
Mr Lokorai stressed that peace and development were the objectives of Dr John Garang and could only be achieved through unity of the people.
