Loreto Girls Secondary School in Rumbek celebrated the success of its graduates that are undertaking studies at various universities.

Loreto Principal Orla Treacy told Good News Radio on Saturday that the school administration is happy to see its graduates continuing with university studies while others who completed their formation are already serving their communities.

She said 16 out of 18 graduates were admitted to study agriculture, business and economics at the Catholic University of South Sudan while others are going to East African universities.

Sister Treacy expressed gratitude to donors who sponsored some of the girls to achieve their university dreams.

She said one donor expressed readiness to sponsor one girl to study civil engineering after she appealed for a scholarship last March.

Sister Treacy added that her students are bright but lack money to continue their studies.

The Principal appealed to organizations and people of good will to sponsor 23 girls from Loreto Secondary School who are completing high school this year.

Mary Nyanajiek, the girl who got sponsorship to study Civil Engineering, said she was determined to see her dream came true.

She added that South Sudan needs more engineers than other professions.

Loreto Girls Secondary School was opened in 2007 and is proving to be a beacon of hope for girls’ education despite early and forced marriage challenges in Lakes State.
