The Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) that were deployed in Blue Nile ahead of the election are pulling out from the area.

Blue Nile governor-elect Malik Agaar told journalists upon his arrival at Juba airport this afternoon that 19 thousand Northern troops were sent to the state due to rumours that the SPLM candidate was not in position to hand over power if he lost the governorship.

Mr. Agaar added that the deployment of SAF troops in the state was part of an intimidation plan during elections.

Mr. Agaar run on the SPLM ticket and won the race for the governorship on Blue Nile State.
