Eastern Equatoria buys veterinary items to boost animal production

Eastern Equatoria State on Thursday received a consignment of assorted veterinary drugs, surgical equipment and materials to boost the sector.
 
Acting Director for Animal Health and Disease Control, Guari Johntana Nicholas, told the press that the state spent about 600 thousand Pounds to pay for the consignment, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
He specified that the delivery included antibiotics, anti-hermetic, and de-wormers for cows, sheep, goats and poultry.
 
Dr Guari said the veterinary items will be distributed to the counties at cost-sharing terms for sustainability of the program.
 
He noted that the assistant county commissioners of veterinary services will take charge of the items.
 
Eastern Equatoria state minister for Animal Resources and Fisheries, Hassan Alex Urbano, said the drugs will enable the government to establish veterinary pharmacies at county levels.
 
Eastern Equatoria state government purchased the veterinary drugs from India to boost and improve animal and poultry production.
