Rumbek National Secondary School is lacking teachers and accommodation for the smooth running of academic activities.

Director Chol Akamte told Good News Radio that teachers lack accommodation because ministers and other state top government officials occupied all teachers’ houses.

He lamented that 16 teachers live in only one house and he and his deputy occupy a two-room house.

Mr Akamte said the second biggest problem is in adequate teachers.

He added that Juba sent 18 teachers but they cannot teach 1,624 students.

Mr Akamte said the school administration last year hired 20 part-time teachers at a cost of 12,800 South Sudanese Pounds.

The Director disclosed that the state governor is willing to pay the part-time teachers this year.

On Monday there was chaos at the school premises due to few teachers for so many students.
