Western Bahr El Ghazal Agriculture, Forestry and Irrigation Minister encouraged the staff of her ministry to prepare realistic and achievable strategic plans.

Lilian Rizik urged the participants in a three-day project design and proposal workshop to develop an operational plan, Voice of Hope reported.

She said the workshop aimed to strengthen agriculture and forestry staff planning capacity.

Ms Rizik said the government is not controlling teak and mahogany illegal cutting, losing its revenue.

She called on forestry departments in Raga, Jur River and Wau counties to have plans to minimize illegal logging in the state.

United Nations Development Programme funded the three-day workshop which brought together 30 participants.
