Dr John Garang Memorial School elects new prefects

Students of Dr John Garang Memorial Secondary School in Torit, Eastern Equatoria elected new prefects.
 
Campaigns and ballot casting started on Monday and concluded on Tuesday with counting of votes, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
Elections patron Iranya Joseph declared that Lohai Gabriel Orasio won the elections with 285 votes and became head prefect for the academic year 2013/2014.
 
He added that John Bul became the assistant prefect after scoring 136 votes.
 
Mr Joseph said only 464 voters out of 621 students in the school turned up for the exercise.
 
He announced that Daniel Bol won the position of school head boy with 225 votes and Roko Alfred became an assistant after getting 85 votes.
 
The patron said Susan Ading won the post of a head girl and Regina Aparo became her assistant.
 
Mr Joseph explained that they first advertised the positions, the students applied and then the School administration screened the applicants.
 
The patron thanked the outgoing prefects for their services and encouraged them to continue exercising their leadership skills.
