Jie community embraces education

Jie community of Eastern Equatoria state is embracing education with over 500 pupils who joined Primary School for the first time.
 
Education Minister Michael Lopuke Lotyam told Emmanuel Radio that the community built local buildings to accommodate pupils discloses 
 
Mr Lopuke appreciated the community for upholding education saying it was in line with the ministry’s plan to increase literacy rates.
 
He said education extension to Jie community was one of the benefits of independence.
 
The minister noted that the ministry realized increment in school enrolment among the pastoral areas including Nyangatom and Lotimor. 
 
He said UNMISS airlifted teachers, scholastic materials and health materials to Jie, Nyangatom and Lotimor schools.
 
Mr Lopuke explained that the World Food Programme also provided food for teachers and pupils.
