President elect of the Republic said after the elections the next battle is to keep the country together.
Omar Hassan Al-Bashir told supporters of his National Congress Party at rally in Khartoum late on Monday that their next battle will be the unity of Sudan.Earlier Mr. al-Basir vowed on a TV transmission to conduct the referendum on South Sudan self-determination as planned on January 2011.
Sudanese political analyst Haydar Ibrahim told AFP that Mr. al-Bashir and his team will have to work hard to convince southerners to choose unity.
Mr. Ibrahim said Mr. al-Bashir should offer the south more autonomy if he wanted to avoid the country’s split.
