Legislators adjourned the conclusion of the debate on a key bill to control the management of oil money after a chaotic sitting.

Chairperson of the Economy, Development and Finance Committee at the National Legislative Assembly Paul Logale Jumi presented to the House the report on the Petroleum Revenue Management Bill 2012 for the third reading on Wednesday.

Some MPs voiced disappointment because the committees of justice, mining and economy did not include a number of changes proposed during the second reading, including the title of the bill that should use Oil instead of Petroleum to harmonize the law with the Transitional Constitution.

The debate dragged on with many interruptions and it was killed off when the Deputy Minister for Finance Mary Jervas Yak rose up to present a long list of observations and suggestions from her ministry often interrupted by MPs.

Speaker James Wani Igga proposed to adjourn the conclusion of the third reading of the Petroleum Revenue Management Bill until the committees reporting on the document and the officials from the Finance ministry harmonized their views.

MPs welcomed the suggestion and Speaker Igga ruled that the third reading of the Petroleum Revenue Management Bill would continue after the House passed the national budget.
