A political leader in Central Equatoria called on the state government to support the private sector in order to create jobs for the unemployed.
Stewart Sorobo is the NCP leader in Central Equatoria. He made this call after governor-elect Clement Wani Konga announced he would lay off thirteen thousand state workers.Mr. Sorobo told SCR News that private enterprises should be established in the state so that people get work.
He encouraged people to return to agriculture in order to make south Sudan less dependent on its neighbours for food.
Mr. Sorobo explained that the downsizing of the state working force was aimed at people getting paid for the services they perform.
Mr. Sorobo reiterated that the downsizing was not targeting individuals who did not vote for governor-elect Konga but those who are dormant at work.
