UNMIS GETS NEW COMMANDER

Moses Obi has been appointed the new Force Commander of the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS).

His appointment was announced by Chris Olukolade, the Director of Army Public Relations, in a statement.

Mr. Obi succeeds Paban Thapa, a Nepalese, who completes his tour of duty in UNMIS on May 22.

Mr. Obi was the Chief of Training and Operations at the Army Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria, prior to his UNMIS appointment.
