Eastern Equatoria Governor and the State Legislative Assembly Speaker differed on methods being used to allocate plots to constitutional post holders.
Speaker Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi in his opening speech at the Assembly accused directors in different ministries of disobeying the Housing minister’s orders on plots allocation, Emmanuel Radio reported.He also accused some civil servants of corrupted tendencies.
Mr Ocholimoi, without disclosing names, said at one time some directors decided on very important issues without the approval of a minister.
He pointed out that there were rampant scandals of plots allotment when the committee formed by the minister failed to allot plots to members of the executive and MPs and allotted them to themselves.
Governor Louis Lobong Lojore rejected allocating plots in favour of constitutional post holders in the State.
He said no constitutional post holder should be considered in allotting plots.
The Governor underlined that everybody, including the ministers and MPs, must apply to the Housing ministry to get a plot.
Mr Lobong said the Assembly was responsible to supervise and check on the Government institutions and ensure wrong elements were wiped out of the system.
The two leaders were talking on Tuesday at the opening of the fourth session of the State Legislative Assembly.
