Eastern Equatoria State secured 5.9 Million Euro, almost 30 million South Sudanese Pounds, for primary health care services in eight counties.
Governor Louis Lobong Lojore disclosed to the Assembly on Tuesday that the Health pool money came from United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Sweden and European Union, Emmanuel Radio reported.He said the fund aimed to improve health services especially to malnourished children and expectant mothers in all the eight counties.
Last month, Eastern Equatoria authority launched a fund petition for 400 million South Sudan Pounds from NGOs and UN agencies to address most urgent priorities.
State Finance Minister Sam Felix Makuja said the state leadership chose five priority areas including health, education, agriculture, water and sanitation, conflict mitigation and human rights.
