WARRAP STUDENTS BEAT LAKES

Warrap state students celebrated victory over Lakes after winning two matches in basketball and volleyball.

On Wednesday morning, Warrap basketball boys team and volleyball girls team defeated their Lakes counterparts in the interschool competition, Voice of Hope reported.

Warrap state education minister Andrea Aguer Ariik said his teams have been playing very well so far.

He explained that Warrap organized state internal competitions from county up to state level to prepare the interschool tournament.

Mr Aguer explained that sports promote diversity and prosperity in South Sudan.

He said through sports many people came to know one another as they interacted and developed social relationships.

Mr Aguer advised all the teams to pull up their socks and play hard for South Sudan to have very strong squads to face any country and challenge.

The minister anticipated that Warrap would represent South Sudan in Basketball in the East African interschool competition.

Mr Aguer described Warrap as the state of sports as residents take part in world competitions.

NBA basketball superstars Luol Deng and late Manut Bol hailed from Warrap.
