A boxing coach appealed to the national and state governments to financially support his boxing club in Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal.
Juma Akuen Akol complained that his school was facing technical and administrative challenges, Voice of Hope reported.He asked the government and communities to support the team in order to perform well in the coming national boxing competition scheduled for July 9.
Mr Akeun said players needed to be encouraged, registered and recognized by the Union in order to avoid training thugs.
He complained that the government neglected individual games in favour of group games.
Mr Akuen began as a boxer in 1973.
He represented Sudan in the international competitions and held a friendly match with the renowned boxer Mohammed Ali Klai in 1988.
