The National Legislative Assembly adopted and passed a report on the situation of the Abyei Area.
The select committee presented a report to the House on the urgent matter of Abyei Area situation following the assassination of paramount chief Koul Deng Kuol.MP Asha Abbas read the resolutions of the Assembly condemning the cowardly killing of chief Deng and one Abyei peacekeeper on May 4.
Ms Abbas said the committee recommended conducting the Abyei Referendum in October as scheduled by the African Union.
The Abyei issue was discussed in the Assembly on June 12.
