The telecom minister promised to better mobile and postal services.
The Council of Ministers passed the five-year strategic plan for the ministry of Telecommunications and Postal Services.CRN asked Minister Madut Biar Yel if the plan allowed for more mobile and land operators in the country.
He answered that the he was working with current providers to increase services and improve coverage.
Mr Biar said the dollar crisis affected services of providers who have to import SIM and airtime cards.
He added that the situation improved and the role-out plan is to be implemented.
Mr Biar was talking to the press on Friday at the end of the ordinary cabinet meeting chaired by President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
The Cabinet also approved the strategic five-year plan for the Housing and Physical Planning that will have a new name: Land, Housing and Urban Development ministry.
Both strategic plans will be tabled at the National Assembly for discussion and approval.
