COURT ACQUITS WBG DEPUTY SPEAKER FROM VIOLENCE CHARGES

Wau Special Court cleared the state assembly deputy speaker from charges of violence instigation.

Edward Ukunjere and another three state MPs were put on trial accused of instigating youths against the transfer of Wau County headquarter to Baggari last October, Voice of Hope reported.

Mr Ukunjere was accused to stand with the youth in a meeting held between with a government representative at Hai Salam School in October pointing that the decision to transfer the county headquarters was not passed by the State Assembly.

He was accused of instigating the violence.

Mr Ukunjere said in an emergency meeting on October 30 at state assembly, chaired by Governor Rizick Zacharia Hassen, that the decision was not passed by the assembly.

Justice Buga Ajwaj Maker cleared Mr Ukunjere of the charges that his speech instigated violence.

Former Commissioner Luka Anthony and two youth were also acquitted due to lack of evidence.
