The European Union Election Observation Mission expressed concern about the current aggregation of results and asked the National Elections Commission to keep the electoral process transparent.
The EU Mission wrote in a statement released yesterday that this crucial phase of the process requires that the results from all polling stations be identifiable in the publication of the final results through a transparent and traceable transmission of figures.
NEC instructed State High Committees to sent results by hand to try to bypass computer problems that are slowing down the publication of final results.
The EU Mission urged the NEC to provide provisional results based on the computerised results management system.
It added that the NEC advice to send results manually would not guarantee accuracy and transparency of the aggregations undermining the integrity of the whole electoral process.
