The government of Unity State and Medicines Sans Frontiers or MSF local staff apologized to MSF expatriates for threatening their security.
Leer County Commissioner Gabriel Gok told CRN in a telephone interview that the MSF local staff and the state government, including the governor and the county authorities apologized for what happened to the international staff.Last week MSF Holland withdrew its expat staff from Leer to Bentiu threatening to close down its activities in the hospital due to security threats to the staff.
Commissioner Gok said the government was not informed about what took place between the local and international staff at the MSF run hospital in Leer.
Leer Commissioner said the security situation in his county is calm.
