Biblical Centre for Africa and Madagascar or BICAM in collaboration with the South Sudan Biblical Apostolate is strengthening the capacity of biblical apostolate agents through a three-day capacity building workshop for all dioceses of South Sudan.

The workshop taking place in Wau runs under the theme “The word of God, source of reconciliation and peace”, Voice of Hope reported.

BICAM director Yves Lucien Evaga Ndjana said the workshop aimed to raise awareness on the use of the word of God as an answer to issues of life and society.

He said the true agents of God are those who witness Christ and his Gospel as the first apostolic mission.

Fr Lucien said the agents are to be capable of reconciling with Jesus and work in reconciliation, justice and peace as “salt on the earth and light of the world.”

South Sudan Biblical Apostolate Coordinator James William Silgat called on the participants to share the Word of God with full dedication.

He added that those who don’t know much about the Bible should be motivated by the Church as the mystical body of Christ.

Fr William called upon all church leaders and lay people to continue spreading the Word of God through Bible sharing and other activities that bring people together.

The workshop brought together more than 25 participants including bishops, priests, and the laity.
