An international forum urged the governments of both Sudans to live in peace, reconcile and good neighbourliness.

Sudan and South Sudan Focal Point officer Marina Peter issued a communiqu√Ö¬Ω on Sunday, saying the 100 participants of the Sudan and South Sudan Conference from 10 countries expressed deep concern about the slow progress in achieving peace, stability and democracy in both states.

The conference took place in Hermannsburg, Germany, from June 14 to 16, 2013.

The statement urged the Comprehensive Peace Agreement stakeholders to overcome their current misunderstandings, keep working together on the timely and full implementation of the agreements and provide an open and transparent process.

The Forum called upon the Government of Sudan to stop aerial bombardment in Darfur, South Kordofan and Blue Nile and to fully facilitate the work of humanitarian agencies in the three areas.

The communiqu√Ö¬Ω underlined that Abyei remained a big concern that could easily escalate once again.

The Forum called on South Sudan and Sudan to immediately resume negotiations for a permanent settlemnt, to endorse the AU proposal, and include local communities to fully understand the content of the proposals.
