The Government of Warrap State announced the opening of a new 85-kilometre road with the assistance of UNDP linking Warrap, Akop, Pakur and Mashraar communities to beef up security and development.
The road works started in December 2011.The Warrap-Mashraar road project is a key output under the Warrap Stabilization Programme funded by the South Sudan Recovery Fund.
The Fund aims to extend state authority into insecure areas through large-scale infrastructure projects to prevent conflict and stabilize communities.
