The Catholic Diocese of Wau does not have spiritual programmes for the Year of Faith that started last October and ends in November.
This was the complain participants voiced during a three-day workshop organized by the Justice and Peace Commission for catechists and laity on Catholic Social Teaching, principals of solidarity and common good, Voice of Hope Radio reported.St Joseph Parish catechist Pasquale Mario said the participants do not know anything about the Year of Faith.
He complained that until now no activity was carried out in his parish on the Year of Faith in the form of training.
Participants urged Church leaders to organize trainings on spiritual growth and Bible studies.
Santino Maurino Morokomomo, who heads the Justice and Peace Commission, explained that Emeritus Pope Benedict declared the Year of to grant Christians around the world a chance to rediscover their faith.
Fr Maurino added that the year brings change in faith and morals practiced globally at the time when advanced technology and recreational centres pose a great danger to Christians.
The Year of Faith concludes with the feast of Christ the King, on November 24.
