SPLM Rumbek Centre office dismissed its Assistant Secretary for Political and Organization Affairs for criticizing last month’s Greater Bahr el Ghazal Conference as tribal.
The office accused Kawaja Kau Madol of violating the SPLM Constitution by engaging in activities that undermine the party’s objectives and policies. In a letter presented to Radio Good News on Friday, the County SPLM office stated that it dismissed Mr Kau and suspended him from the party until investigations were concluded.
The letter warned Mr Kau of complete termination of membership if he continued to criticize the ruling party.
The dismissal followed an article published by Sudan Tribune on June 4 in which Mr Kau warned youth to distance themselves from regional conferences that he said could disintegrate the party’s spirit into regional blocks and subsequent breakup.
He was quoted as urging the youth not to be misled by those whose days were already gone.
Mr Kau could not be reached for comments.
