A local hospital in Nuba Mountains ran short of vaccines to protect children against tuberculosis and poliomyelitis.

Vaccination Programme Coordinator Rocio Aginyaga said the hospital lacks Tuberculosis and Polio vaccines.

She said vaccination was important because it prevents children from crippling or fatal diseases.

Sr Aginyaga said she hopes to get vaccines to recover the immunization programme at the local hospital.

She Aginyaga explained that immunization plays an important role in the health of children.

Sr urged parents to take their children for vaccination when vaccines are available.

She cautioned that children who were not immunized were at risk of getting ill.
