AUTHORITIES WARN AGAINST SELLING TEXTBOOKS

Western Equatoria State authorities warned parents, pupils, and teachers against getting the textbooks into market.

State Governor, Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro asked the pupils to vow to and keep in mind the commandment that “we shall not sell the textbooks because they are ours”.

State Minister for General Education, Pia Philip Michael appreciated DFID for producing and distributing textbooks to schools in South Sudan.

He said lack of resources like the textbooks was one of the reasons failing pupils.

DFID representative Elizabeth Carrier said over ten million textbooks should be distributed to all the primary schools to ensure that at least each pupil receive a book.

Western Equatoria State on Thursday launched textbooks distribution in Yambio.
