Executive chiefs of Terekeka and Juba Counties in Central Equatoria State resolved to settle boarder disputes locally without politicians’ engagement.
The chiefs called on the Government to address some of the challenges facing their activities.Executive chiefs’ representative Elia Subek Marko from Juba County told Radio Easter that they learnt ways of peaceful co-existence and development.
Yei River County commissioner Juma David Augustine appealed to the state Local Government ministry to motivate and strengthen working environment of the chiefs.
Juma urged the chiefs of be ambassadors of peace, love and unity at the grass root levels.
The remarks came during the closing session of the three-day training for executive chiefs on conflict mitigation and rule of law in Yei River County.
State Local Government ministry in collaboration with the UN Mission in South Sudan or UNIMISS organised the training.
