Two MIG jetfighters dropped four bombs over Kauda, in Nuba Mountains, two years and one day after the war started in the Sudanese state of South Kordofan.

The two warplanes dropped four bombs at 10:15 AM of Thursday near Kauda’s airstrip heading high north.

No casualties were reported.

The attack took place a day after the second anniversary of the deadly war affecting Nuba Mountains and South Kordofan.

SPLA-North rebels took arms against Khartoum on June 5, 2011, following the contested results of a state election that declared Government candidate Ahmed Haroun as South Kordofan Governor.

Some sources told CRN that the MIGs could be targeted possible celebrations of the SPLA-N rebellion’s second anniversary in Kauda.

The two-year war affected greatly life in Nuba Mountains spreading insecurity, hunger and death and over 70 thousand people took refuge in Yida, South Sudan.
