At least 20 students of philosophy from Tombura-Yambio and one from Malakal dioceses began classes on Monday in Yambio.

The Priest in charge, John Ngbapia said the dioceses of Tombura-Yambio Malakal and Torit agreed to jointly open one philosophy, Anisa Radio reported.

He said this followed Rome declaration to close the national philosophy in Juba last year and requested each bishop to cater for his philosophers.

Fr. Ngbapia said that they were expecting many seminarians to come from the three dioceses to begin this academic year in Yambio.

The cleric said the seminarians learn philosophical, religious studies and general humanities.

He confirmed that all the necessary accommodations are in place and that the library will soon be ready.

The institute is called John Paul the Second Pre-philosophicum Seminary affiliated to the Consollata Institute of Philosophy in Nairobi, Kenya.
