Lakes State Finance Ministry urged all tax payers to demand for form 15 receipts when they are paying taxes.
Finance Minister Joseph Maker Madit on Monday told all businesses and institutions in the State to demand for a genuine receipt when paying stamp duty taxes, licenses, fines or any other type of tax, Good News Radio reported.He said the form 15 receipts are available in all government institutions and tax payers should reject payment for dubious receipts issued by tax collectors.
Mr Maker encouraged taxpayers to contact the Finance ministry authorities when they face intimidation or arrest from tax collectors.
He said the ministry stands with any person who resists paying money without genuine receipts.
The Minister revealed that there was great improvement in revenue collection especially in Rumbek Centre County although other Counties have poor reports.
The Ministry is expected on Tuesday to host a workshop for all government institutions on the 2013-2014 budget ceiling before it goes to the cabinet.
