The Acting Executive Director of Kumbur Payam, in Nuba Mountains called on the citizens to keep cattle far from farm lands.
Amdan Kodi Amdan said the keeping cattle far would help farmers produce more food to minimize hunger.He urged the local chiefs to pressure cattle keepers to avoid rearing animals near the farmlands.
Mr Kodi warned people not to clear trees randomly in order to attract more rain.
He attributed lack of rain in the area to the local population continuous unnecessary cutting of trees.
Nuba Mountains region is experiencing shortage of rain after people planted last month.
