The SPLM-North Party is ready to resume direct negotiations with the Khartoum government on June 6.
SPLM-North Chief Negotiator Yasir Arman said that the goal was “to reach cessation of hostilities according to the UN Security Council Resolution 2046.He said the head of the African Union High-Level Implementation Panel informed him that the talks will take place on June 6 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Mr Arman said the negotiations will be on the basis of the 28 June, 2011 agreement that caters for an inclusive National Constitutional process.
Last week, Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir announced that he will never negotiate with the SPLM-North again.
