Kumbur Payam Education Supervisor announced that their schools are closing in the first week of June instead of June 30 as planned earlier.
Khaled Karaka Lalo said some primary schools already sat for end term exams and were expected to close by the end of May.He cited economic hardship as a serious challenge hindering schools’ progress.
Mr Karaka said they are planning to improve next academic year and to ensure enough trained teachers.
HeÊ said lack of proper classrooms is one of the challenges as some children continue to learn under the trees.
Mr Karaka said learning under the trees would be impossible when rains started.
He added that coaching for this year’s primary leaving exams will kick off on July 15.
Mr Karaka said this year candidates of six primary schools in Kumbur Payam will sit in one centre.
He called on parents to coach and give candidates time for revisions.
