The Government of South Sudan said the cooperation agreements contain a number of channels to settle problems and Sudan should use them instead of issuing public threats.
On Monday, President Omar Al Bashir of Sudan accused South Sudan of continuing to support Sudanese rebels and keeping soldiers in the demilitarized areas of Joda and Tashwin.He threatened to stop the flow of oil in retaliation.
Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin told the press Tuesday afternoon that there was no reason for threats when there were diplomatic channels in place.
He added that leaders can resolve issues among themselves and ministers from both countries were given the freedom to interact and keep contacts.
Dr Marial said South Sudan is committed to the cooperation agreements to the benefit of both countries.
He added that oil benefits South Sudan and Sudan and investors from China, Malaysia and India.
Dr Marial denied that Sudan Revolutionary Front had an office in Juba.
He added that if the Sudanese intelligence had information about the location of such office it should share it with South Sudan National Security Services.
Dr Marial said President Salva Kiir Mayardit is soon to visit Khartoum and witness the arrival of South Sudan’s crude to Port Sudan.
