Joint Donors Team pledged to continue supporting South Sudan although the Multi Donors Trust Fund or MDTF closed down.
Head of Joint Donor Team Honor Flanagan said the donors will continue engaged in the development of South Sudan.She said they will review the MDTF for a better future.
World Bank representative Bella Bird said South Sudan MDTF lessons would be used in other fragile and conflict affected countries.
She said the lessons would be used for developing the body of analytical work that would help South Sudan’s government develop sound policies.
Finance Deputy Minister Mary Jervas Yak said MDTF South Sudan helped to rebuilt Juba Teaching Hospital and 84 other health facilities across the country.
She explained that 1,200 health facilities were supplied with enough drugs for 36 months.
Women also benefited from MDTF through small business loans.
Ms Jervas said MDTF put agriculture as a focal point and farmer groups received grants to improve their activities beyond subsistence agriculture.
She said the project was also used to rehabilitate Korgwulu Agricultural Training School in Yei County and built a number of stores in production areas.
The three speakers were talking during the MDTF closing ceremony in Juba on Tuesday.
MDTF was created in 2005 with an amount of 817 million US dollars from donor countries and 99 percent of the money was used in 21 projects in South Sudan.
