Twenty health service providers in Eastern Equatoria state are undergoing a four-day training to increase their knowledge on HIV AIDS.
Eastern Equatoria State International HIV AIDS Alliance Programme manager Oniko Joseph said the training targeted AIDS facility staff, Emmanuel Radio reported.He said the training aimed at improving health workers’ services to the youth.
Mr Joseph said the training followed studies which indicated that young people lacked information about sexual reproductive health and HIV AIDS.
He said young people also lacked access to reproductive health services and feared public facilities due to discrimination stigma.
The 20 participants came from Ikwotos, Hiyala, Kudo, Torit State Hospital and Nyong.
Swedish International Development Agency or SIDA funded the training that started on Monday.
