Girls from different schools are sharing experiences and develop ideas about conditions at school to write a script for a film documentary.
Africa Education Trust Programme Officer Patrick Aciga told Bakhita Radio that films are tools used to inform the international community about the conditions girls face in schools.He said the five-day training focuses especially on the marginalized girls in the rural schools.
Mr Aciga added that once the girls receive basic knowledge about their full rights, they will be able to document incidents that affect their education.
He said the documentaries will also help lobbying for support for girls’ education.
Mr Aciga said he expected the girls to tell stories that affect their lives at school and at home.
He added that the policy makers will use their stories and materials to generate support for all girls in school.
Mr Aciga said this will enable the government to raise awareness against bad traditional practices.
He said the project is taking place in Jonglei, Lakes, Western and Central Equatoria states.
