The UN on Thursday handed over a variety of non-food items to Torit County prison and Torit Hospital.
United Nations High Commission for Refugees or UNHCR Head of Field Office in Torit Etsuko Chida handed items to the prison that included plastic sheets for the floor, nine sleeping mats, nine buckets, ten pieces clothes and ten blankets for female convicts and their babies, Emmanuel Radio reported.Other non-food items for the female inmates included 20 bars of bathing soap, 18 pieces of pants and sanitary napkin materials.
Male inmates received plastic sheets and 20 sleeping mats.
The male inmates also received 130 blankets and 40 collapsible jerry-cans.
UNHCR also handed 50 delivery kits to Torit Hospital and pledged to continue its support on monthly basis up to December.
The hospital additionally received one bale of sanitary napkin materials, 50 blankets, 50 collapsible jerry-cans and ten buckets.
