Two Ugandan rebels gave themselves up to SPLA soldiers yesterday near Yambio, in Western Equatoria.

The surrender was confirmed by SPLA spokesman, Maj. General Kuol Deim Kuol.

Maj. Gen. Deim said two soldiers of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) surrendered in Yambio.

He added that the rebels, a captain and a private, said they escaped from Central African Republic where they recently survived an ambush by Ugandan Army.

UPDF forces are hunting down Joseph Kony and the LRA rebels in South Sudan, DR Congo and Central African Republic.
