A nine-month old baby girl kidnapped and thrown into an unfinished pit latrine by unknown men on Saturday night in Rumbek is safe in her mother’s arms.

Ajak Marier, the mother of the baby, told Good News Radio that she was sleeping in the compound in Malualbab area when two men wearing heavy jackets came in and first picked her phone; then dropped the phone, slapped her and took the baby.

A passerby alerted police on Sunday morning after he found the baby girl in an uncompleted pit latrine in the neighbourhood.

The baby had no injuries except for some rashes due to mosquito bites.

Mama Ajak alerted mothers to be watchful and sleep indoors even in hot nights because child kidnappers are on the loose.

The thankful mother on Sunday narrated her ordeal to an awesome congregation at Sacred Heart Parish.

She called the event the Pentecost Miracle.
