Tonj Secondary School in Warrap State needs benches and desks for its students.
Deputy Headmaster Maker Machar told Radio Don Bosco on Monday that his school needs furniture to accommodate students. He added that the students are not receiving food from the government or any NGO this academic year.
Mr Machar said he invited World Vision to visit the school and if possible to assist them in the most needed areas.
He added that the few benches and desks that are available in the school are being used by Senior Three and Senior Two students.
Mr Machar urged Tonj Secondary students and teachers to be patient and wait for the Headmaster to return from the education ministry in Kuajok.
Senior One student and class monitor Bosco Aleu said benches were taken from their classroom at the beginning of the year and given to upper classes.
Mr Aleu added that the headmaster went to the Ministry of Education in Kuajok to try to get the necessary help from the government.
Senior One student Mary Nyibol said she didn’t mind having to bring her own chair from home to school every day because it was a way of cooperating with the school in time of need.
