Check the length of your skirt, the level of the belt and size of the trousers before stepping forward: you are likely to be denied the Holy Communion, following a ban on indecent dress code in church.

Announcer at Torit’s Our Lady of Assumption parish Church Louis Otto declared the ban of a specified dress code to the congregation on Sunday, Radio Emmanuel reported.

He said Sunday worships were not barred from wearing dresses of their choices but they should select decent ones if they intended to receive Holy Communion.

Mini-skirts, skirts with slits that expose the thigh, transparent dresses, skin tight skirts and trousers were among the dresses banned for ladies.

Man cannot wear trousers that hang down below the buttocks commonly referred to as “pull down.”

Mr Otto said indecent dressing symbolizes mockery to the Holiness of the Lord, and social outfits and attire used at entertainment joints should not be worn in Church.

He disclosed that the Catholic Action and Evangelizers will check on people coming for communion and inform the priests when they spoted those who defy the dress restrictions so that they are denied the Holy Communion.
