A law that defines the limits of national security is key for the freedom of speech in South Sudan.
MP Gatwech Lam Puoch, representing Nasir at the National Legislative Assembly, said during the last eight years many journalists were victims of intimidation, some were killed and others went into exile due to lack of protection.Mr Lam said the Parliament needs to pass a law that sets the boundaries of national security to allow freedom of expression in the country.
The Nasir representative made this statement during the second reading of the Broadcasting Cooperation Bill on Tuesday.
