Western Equatoria parliament tabled the State Population Projection Bill for its first reading.

The House passed the bill for deliberations and amendments to the Committee of Security and gave it one week to prepare the second reading, Radio Anisa reported.

State Minister of Local Government Daniel Ezibon Zingifuaboro told the press that the Governor commissioned him and Labour Minister Jack Celia Ebere to compile the results of a local census conducted last year by all county commissioners in Western Equatoria.

Mr Ezibon said the Population Census is a very sensitive issue in terms of administration and management of the nation.

He added that the State Population Projection does not affect the upcoming 2014 Census.
