The manual process of counting ballots delayed the elections final results expected to be announced today.

Constituency Election officer for Yei County, Fr. Simon Khamis, told Easter Radio over the telephone from Juba that election results cannot be declared today because manual counting delayed the process.

Father Khemis said the counting process is still going on in some states of Southern Sudan, including Central Equatoria.

He added that in Yei County, ballot papers from Tore polls started being counted yesterday.

Fr. Khemis explained that the declaration of the Election Results cannot be done until the counting process is completed.
