The Catholic bishop of Yei called on the people to stop gossiping.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe said during his Sunday homily that gossip destroys people’s good name and amounts to character assassination, Radio Easter reported.He urged the people to leave gossip in order to lead a humble and peaceful life.
Bishop Lodu said it was better to consult the concerned person on a point which is not clear than gossiping about the person or the issue.
He added that both the gossipers and the listeners profit nothing from slander.
Bishop Lodu advised people to leave gossiping and lead a life full of constructive words in order to bring peace to the whole community.
The bishop made these statements at Yei’s Christ the King Cathedral during his Sunday homily.
