Wau Special Court for December’s deadly violence postponed the hearing of witnesses for 21 suspects to an unspecified date.

Tuesday’s session was the fourth in the case of 21 suspects, including five state members of parliament, one journalist, some youths and civil servants accused of taking part in deadly protests, Voice of Hope reported.

Justice Bouga Ajwaj Makier said the court postponed Tuesday’s hearing due to administrative reasons.

He added that the court will set a new date to hear the enrolled witnesses.

An eyewitness said relatives of the suspects who wanted to attend the hearing had a bitter argument with a senior CID officer.

He added that the argument happened when relatives, especially women, tried to enter the court room and CID operatives chased them away.

The same source revealed that the investigator, who was a CID officer, threatened to arrest defence lawyer Kour Lual Kour inside the court after the quarrel.

He added that after the incident, Justice Ajwaj decided to adjourn the hearing.
