Thirty-five pupils of Holy Cross primary school, mostly girls, were arrested at a night club in Lainya County of Central Equatoria state.

Head teacher Mogga Martin condemned the pupils who went to the disco hall and threatened to punish them for violating school rules and regulations, Radio Easter reported.

Lainya County Inspector for Girl Child Education Helen Koropo warned about girls visiting night clubs and encouraged them to focus on education as the only key to success.

She said night discos were the main cause of early marriages and unplanned pregnancies that contributed to school dropouts.

The parents of those caught in the disco blamed their children for disobedience.

The parents said they needed their children in school and not in dancing places.

The parents appreciated the school administration of calling them to witness the cases of their own children.
